@Ingrid Dunham or @Wade Dunham or @Karen Moles. Sue Kidd said you would have information about Fern K. Dunham.  (I called her Aunt Fern long ago = am originally from Beaumont, Texas and Fern and Lucille McGown Horne (my aunt who raised me) were best friends. Is there an obituary for her -- or omg -- could she still be with us?  Again, condolences on Ed's passing to you all. Ed was Aunt Fern's son;  Wade Dunham is her grandson.  We have no information prior to 1984.

Dunham, perhaps an obituary.She was best friends with Lucille McGown Horne in Beaumont, TX and I visited Fern in Florida. Mr. Dunham was a wonderful father-in-law. He made me feel very welcome to the family, and I always enjoyed his company and conversation. I have fond memories of watching ballgames and war movies with him. One memory I'll never forget was riding with him in the car and listening to his wide range of music. It went from bluegrass, to miltary marching bands, to zydeco, to bagpipes. He was a great man, loved his family and country, and I'll miss him much.

Ed was a wonderful man and I will miss him. I love Ed and look forward to seeing him down the road a piece.

Ed Dunham was a soldier whose country could be proud of.  He put love and duty to country above all else.  He was well read and could put up a good argument on most any subject.  His deployment to many parts of the world gave him a wide knowledge of the world.  It was our good fortune to have known him.

The Kidd reunion was started for ED and I by Joe Pulumbo stories. Joe was an all American football Player at the Univ. of Va. Ed played against Joe as A Vandy varsity player and I had played with Joe at Greenbrier Military. The conversatio would go from there to include many other subject. Ed was a great wealth of many other subject...which always made him a pleasure to be with. Peggy and I will miss him greatly. Jerry Staley

As a child, visting family in Florida was very special to us.  Aunt Fern was always so proud of Ed.  This pride was shared by all family members. His service to this country and his family are exemplary.

Ingrid , Bea and I send deepest sympathy. We fondly remember the great times at Leavenworth as we got to know and enjoy each other.  Ed was special and shall never be forgotten by all. God bless you and children.

My memories of Ed date bsck to my childhood.when he and his Mom and Dad used to visit us. One of my favorite memories is something he said about my Mother. He said,"I remember Aunt Helen with the fondest.of memories. She always had plenty to eat and let me eat ALL I wanted." Our country is a safer and better place because of his efforts.  I met him several times when he would come over to see Wade, Kelly, and Fischer.  He was a very nice man and I am glad I got to know him.  His life was much more enjoyable by his wonderful and loving wife.  He will be missed.

Ed's sayings will be remembered by many.

It's been 50 years since I served with Ed in the 2d Infantry. He was a fine officer and fun to be around.

Praying for you all during this difficult time.

May God's spirt enfold  Ingrid, Karen, Wade and their families during this difficult time.   Even though Carl Kidd and Ed were first cousins,  we had never met them until Dec., 1984, here at our house in Tullahoma, TN.  Aunt Fern and Mrs. Kidd  were here then.   We visited Aunt Fern whenever we went to Franklin and Ed and Ingrid were there too on many occasions.  The first Kidd reunion I remember was in 1998 and the last in 2008 as only 8 to 11 people were able to attend.  We attended all except one reunion in N.C.
The years have taken a toll on us all.  Carl was left brain damaged after his heart surgery in 2006 but enjoyed attending the reunions of 2007 and 2008.   That was "his family" he said.  I will always remember Ingrid being so nice to Carl in 2008;  his lack of hearing (which has gotten much worse) made it almost impossible to communicate with people.  I especially enjoyed listening to Ed and Bobby Jack tell their stories, and seeing the picture of the families.  God bless!!!

This man was some character and never hesitated to express his views. He was so intelligent and with a world of knowledge and experience. My fondest memories of Ed are at the Kidd renunions listening to him and all the cousins debate anything from basketball, football, politics, and anything else they could think of.  Our blessings are to Ingrid, Karen and Wade.

God Bless Ingrid, Karen, and Wade in their loss.  The Dunhams are wonderful neighbors and people...You are in my thoughts and prayers, daily.

My favorite memories of Ed are from the day before Thanksgiving when we would fry turkeys in the driveway.  No matter how early I would get up Ed would always beat me outside and be waiting on me.  He would calculate the weight of the turkeys and fry them for the exact amount of time they needed to cook.  He did a great job and started a tradition that we will carry on for many years.

I remeber Ed at all the Kidd reunions where he enjoyed talking history, politics and football with the male cousins and playing scrabble with the women.  I'm so sorry he is gone; he will be missed very much. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this difficult time.
