

Mrs. Elizabeth Daniel Hale, age 91, died on December 5, 2013. Mrs. Hale was born on August 2, 1922 in Cookeville, TN. She received a B.S. degree from Tennessee Tech, a master’s degree from Peabody College, and completed all work for a doctorate except the dissertation from Peabody. She was an educator for 40 years as a teacher, educational consultant, and principal. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. Clifford Earl Hale, her parents, Forster and Ada Rice Daniel, and her son, David Daniel Hale. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Gwen Hale White, five grandchildren, Dr. Melissa (Reggie) Angell, Ms. Melinda Tomlinson, Mrs. Sandra (Kim) Outzen, 1LT David C. (Becky) Hale, and Ms. Jaime Hale. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had been active there for many years. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on December 7, 2013 at Cheek House of First Presbyterian Church on Franklin Road followed by the funeral at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Sandra Randleman will officiate. Burial will follow at City Cemetery in Cookeville, TN. Memorial contributions may be made to First Friends at First Presbyterian Church, Elementary Principals Association of Metro Schools, or to the charity of one’s choice.
