Evelyn Boone Ivanoff, Age 97, recently of Brentwood, Tennessee, formerly of Yuba City, California, died peacefully on May 25, 2011. The oldest daughter of Lloyd Earl Boone and Elvira Eva Boone, she was
proud to say she was a fifth generation Californian with ancestry tracing to Daniel Boone of Kentucky. While raising two sons alone, she worked at See's Candy and Edy's Candy stores and other retail stores in San Francisco and Redwood City. She retired in 1975 and until her mid 80's she was active in many civic, social and political organizations while living in Gridley and Yuba City. She worked as a model well into her 80's and traveled the world as a companion to individuals and families,
adamant that age was a number that meant nothing, if you took care of yourself. She loved the
outdoors and had a special gift for plants of all kinds. Evelyn had many friends of all ages
and believed in living life to the fullest. She was always ready to party or jump on the back of a
Harley for a ride through the foothills of the Sierras. Even into her 90's, she loved NASCAR and the San Francisco 49ers. Evelyn cherished her family, leaving her son, Greg Ivanoff and wife Robin of Volcano, CA, son Stephan Ivanoff and wife Kaye of Brentwood, TN with whom she lived for seven years, granddaughters Desiree Love of Sacramento, Yvette (Jimmy) Torrise of Littleton, CO, Kristen Johnson of Memphis, TN and Natalie (Koehler) Slagel of Blacksburg, VA., grandson Nicholas Ivanoff of Brentwood, TN, great-grandchildren Mike Maldonado, Katrina Love, Madison Torrise, Nina Torrise
and Kenny Allison and great-great grandson Mason Scott Maldonado. A memorial service will be held
on July 18, 2011 1:00 pm at Chapel of the Hills, 1331 Lincoln Way in Auburn, CA 95603 with
visitation with the family beginning at 12 noon. Private burial will follow at Bangor Cemetery
in Bangor, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for memorials to be sent to Bangor Cemetery
Board, P.O. Box 187, Bangor, CA 95914 to help in the restoration and preservation of the
historic Bangor Cemetery or to a charity of the donor's choice.
