Howard D. Buttrey, age 81, died on December 3, 2013 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Elise, and children, Diane (Bill) Tucker, Mike (Judie) Shaw and grandchildren. He was Brentwood, TN’s first police chief from 1977-2000. Howard will be remembered for his friendly smile as a greeter at church, his excitement being on the golf course, and for his dedication to his civic responsibilities, his wife, and his two English bull dogs. Services will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 7th of December, at First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland St., Nashville, TN with visitation held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to a charity of your choice.
