James H. Stedman

Preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth L. Stedman; parents, Edgar Perry (E. P.) Stedman and Mayme M. Stedman; and sister, Virginia Stedman Petree.

He is survived by wife Carol Stedman, son Steven (Shawn) Stedman; step-son Scott (Jessica) Waters of Hollis, NH; step-daughter Jillian Waters of Nashville, TN; granddaughters Victoria (Nathan) Moseley of Tacoma, WA and Tobin Stedman of Austin, TX; sister Ellin Gentry of Jefferson City, TN; nieces Lucie (Paul) Bertin-Bouseu of Stratford, CT; Alice (Tom) McElroy of Arapahoe, NC; Bethann (Dennis) Gowan of Gallatin, TN; nephew Dale (Teresa) Gentry of New Market, TN.

He was a veteran of the US Navy and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Electrical Engineering. After a career that took him to several cities, he retired in Nashville. He enjoyed gardening and spent his retirement working in his yard and volunteering with the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and the Williamson County Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Crievewood United Methodist Church, 451 Hogan Rd., with the Rev. Dr. Peter van Eys officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Crievewood UMC Building Fund, 451 Hogan Rd., Nashville, TN 37220.
