John Carter Beamer, age 80 passed away on October 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Preceded in death by his parents, Dysart Mankin Beamer and Anne Ridley Beamer. Also preceded by Patricia Hutcheson Beamer, mother of daughters Janet (Gary) Greene of Franklin TN, and Lauren (Chris) Kitchens of Castle Rock, CO.
Survived by wife, Dorothy Brown Beamer of Brentwood and sister Ann Bates of Nashville; grandchildren, Caitlin Galo of Spring Hill, TN; Michael (Leah) Galo of Brentwood, TN; Austin (Anna) Greene of Nashville, TN; Amy Greene of Murfreesboro, TN; Zachary and Jacob Kitchens of Castle Rock, CO.
John was a 1955 graduate of Cohn High School, Nashville, TN. He served his country in both the U.S. Marine Corps and U. S. Air Force. He retired as Assistant Post Master for the U.S. Postal Service in TN. He was long-time member of Crieve Hall Church of Christ, Elks Lodge and served as President of the Board of Directors of Nashville Post Office Credit Union.
Active pallbearers to serve: Gary Greene, Michael Galo, Chris Kitchens, Zach Kitchens, Austin Greene, Al Bates and Chris Carothers. Honorary pallbearers are the Directors and Employees of Nashville Post Office Credit Union, Cohn High School Class of 1955, Retired Postal Supervisors and John Charlton.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 11 am, Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. Gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday October 23rd from 4-6 pm, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, October 24th at the funeral home. Interment to follow the service at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to: Make-a-Wish Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Alive Hospice.
