She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Cartwright and parents, Alvin Gillespie Kennedy and Nora Sanders Kennedy.
She is survived by daughter, Diane Cartwright Bauer; sons, Thomas Young Cartwright (Alice) and Steven Kennedy Cartwright (Danielle); granddaughter, Fawn Kennedy Bauer; sister, Norma Ann Phillips; faithful caregivers, Margaret Drake and Allison Marshall; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a 1943 graduate of Central High School. She worked for the Federal Highway Administration for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She had been a faithful member of Brentwood Hills Church of Christ since 1962.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Brentwood Hills Church of Christ located at 5120 Franklin Road from three to six o’clock in the evening and on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from eleven until noon, with funeral service to follow at noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief.
