Mary Gwendolyn White Midden, age 67, passed away in the early hours of March 13, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Mary was born in 1955 in Lawrence County, TN to the late Mary Frances and Kenneth White. She graduated from Overton High School and received a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Belmont University. Mary worked for many years at The Faye Snodgrass Gallery in downtown Franklin where she helped with sales, bookkeeping, and filling her home with gorgeous Christmas decorations and Vera Bradley bags. She is survived by her brother Keith White (Rita White), daughter Allison Walker (Stuart Walker), granddaughter Camille Walker, daughter Keely Midden, and son Preston Midden.
Mary was a devoted daughter, caring mother and sister, loving aunt and cousin, and best friend to many. As a dedicated Christian she practiced her faith through her actions and strove to embody the teaching of Christ through empathy and compassion. She taught her children early to never judge because “You never know what a person is going through.” She was the first to call, never came empty handed, and stayed until the last dish was put away. Her laughter was contagious and her love was warm. Even as the glimmer of her mind faded her redeeming qualities still shined through. She was able to get the seniors at Morning Pointe up out of their seats for a dance party more than once. She was adored by all those who took care of her throughout the years. The Mary we loved was still there and could brighten our day with a smile.
Gathering of Friends and Family wil be Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at 4:30pm at Brentwood-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home (9010 Church Street East, Brentwood, TN, 37027).
We would like to invite you to celebrate her and the love she gave. The impact she had outweighs the sadness we might now feel. Let us reflect, admire, and be thankful for who we are because she was a part of our life.
The family is collecting memories of Mary for a tribute book to preserve stories of her life for the next generation. Please consider adding a memory below or sending one to the family.
