
POTTS, Mildred Jeanette (James) Born November 11, 1926, and died December 30, 2010 surrounded by family. Mrs. Potts was a graduate of Bell School in Adams, TN and valedictorian of the class of 1944. She worked at WSIX Radio in Nashville as a copywriter of announcements and commercials while attending Draughons Business College. As an active member of Brentwood Hills Church of Christ, she was a nursery attendant for over 20 years and involved with the seniors’ Visitation Ministry. Mrs. Potts was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Henry and Evelyn Pearl James, and sister, Martha James McMillan. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, W.C. “Drubby” Potts; son, Melvin Potts; daughter, Carroll (Jon) Jablonski; three granddaughters, Susan (Tim) Lloyd, Leanne (Wesley) Bender, and Emily (Ryan) Moss; five great-grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, and Rebekah Lloyd, and Jackson and Philip Bender; brother, Max (Joy) James; and 6 nieces and nephews. Graveside service on Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Franklin, TN. Active pallbearers: Phil, Kim and Scott McMillan, Jim Whittaker, Joseph Binkley, and Terry Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers: devoted friends, Dot McGinnis and Charlotte Felts. Visitation Sunday, January 2, 2011, from 2:00-6:00 and Monday, January 3, 2011, from 9:30 – 10:30 at BRENTWOOD-ROESCH-PATTON FUNERAL HOME. Memorials may be made to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort or Alive Hospice.
