My husband, Joe Romans, welcomed Wayne into the family/friend fishing/golf trip to Seminole each year. He liked him instantly. When I notified the other guys of his passing, they were sad. I, myself, was looking forward to being neighbors when we moved. Kathy, thinking of you and your family.

We have known Wayne and Kathy for over 50 years becoming friends through family involvements at Crievewood United Methodist Church and Crieve Hall Youth Athletic Association. Wayne was a willing volunteer singing in the church choir, serving as a Youth Counselor or preparing the baseball/ solfball fields for play and games. A welcoming friend, a dependable participant in all of his activities, a trusted and committed worker for a very long term employer and above all a loving husband and father are defining traits of Wayne as we knew him. Wayne leaves a wonderful legacy for all of us to follow.

Wayne and I grew up together. There are so many memories to share from our childhood in East Nashville to recent week-end fishing trips and our frequent lunches at City Cafe.
I will miss him greatly and always cherish the time we had together for over 70 years.
