

Phillip Lloyd DeWire passed peacefully on November 7, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was born August 15, 1939 in Lewisburg, Tennessee to Robert Clement DeWire and Frances Faye Horner DeWire. The family moved from Lewisburg to Nashville when he was about 5 years old. He is survived by his former wife Fay Rodgers DeWire, two daughters, Tracey DeWire and Lesley (Aaron) Ochoa, three grandchildren Madelyn Herbert (Guy) Davenport, Elijah Ochoa, Isabella Ochoa, one great-granddaughter Collins Grace Davenport, one sister Faye DeWire Carnahan, three nephews and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Phil was a Registered Pharmacist where he worked in retail over 30 years, then in hospitals for a few years, and lastly with a staffing service where he enjoyed the variety of work. He also served in the Air National Guard. Phil was a “people person” who never met a stranger and who delighted in helping others. The family would like to thank the loving, caring staff of the memory care unit at Harmony at Bellevue.
Memorials may be made to the Caring Ministry at Woodmont Hills Church of Christ or to St. Jude Hospital.
There will be a visitation held on Sunday, January 4 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at the Hospitality House of Woodmont Hills Church of Christ, 3710 Franklin Pike, Nashville, 37204.
