

Ed was born to the late Antonio Jayme III and Ana Solidarios, in Bacolod City, Philippines on May 31, 1945. He and his 10 siblings were immersed into a strong Christian Catholic faith at an early age, and from then on, he dedicated his life to serving God and the community.
Ed was a teacher, mentor, coach, and counselor. He was a teacher and principal at Green Hills La Salle University in Manila and also coached the soccer and volleyball teams. Ed formed unforgettable and long-lasting friendships with his students and their parents. He also received his Masters Degree in Religious Education from La Salle University in Philadelphia. Ed worked at the Diocese of Nashville and dedicated over 10 years as a Counselor at Behavioral Health Group to listen and care for those who were struggling with substance abuse.
Ed was a respected Deacon for the Diocese of Nashville, and in addition to preparing his inspiring homilies every Sunday, his passion was helping others seek and find their Catholic journey within RCIA.
He married his wife Jee Yago on July 28, 1990 and was always proud of his only daughter, Marie. He filled the household with patience, love, support, hard work, and kindness. He enjoyed traveling around the world, vacations to the beach, photography, playing soccer, and cheering on the Tennessee Titans on Sundays after Mass. Ed was also very creative - he brought so much color to our lives with his craft and his friendly smile. He was a teacher and principal at various schools run by De La Salle in the Philippines and also coached the soccer and volleyball teams.
Ed was a true follower and messenger of Christ. He is loved and dearly missed by all, who celebrate his union with the Lord.
Ed is survived by his wife, Jee; his daughter Marie, his son-in-law Alex, his brothers Antonio IV, Adolfo, and Jerome; and his sisters Melinda, Janet, Mabel and Emilia. He is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann; his brothers Nelson and Daniel; and his parents.
Visitation will be at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Antioch at 9:30am until 11 a.m. on December 11, 2020 and the rosary to follow. Funeral Mass will be officiated by Bishop Mark Spalding at 11:30am. Ed’s burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. The family gratefully accepts donations for a scholarship fund in his honor for students in the Philippines.
