Sharon Elizabeth Robson Travis passed away peacefully on August 31, 2020 at the age of 74. She was born September 12, 1945 in Allegan, MI to Charles William Robson and Lucille Fay Priest. Sharon graduated from the University of Michigan and taught math in public school outside of Detroit. Always a supporter of those in need, she later initiated and oversaw the Neighborhood Aftercare Program, a school aged program that provided metro government funded after care in high risk Nashville public schools, a part of Tying Nashville Together. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother (“Gram”), and wife. She was known to all for her smile and positivity, even in the face of adversity. She brought joy wherever she went.
She will be remembered with love by her children, Kim (Morgan) Cowle and Keith (Lori) Travis, brother Larry Robson, 6 grandchildren: Benjamin, Evy, and Mirta Cowle and Howie, Daphne, and Sailor Travis, extended family, and friends. She was predeceased by 2 months by her husband of 53 years, Lawrence Travis Jr., and sister Sue Wetmore.
A celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at Christ Church Cathedral in downtown Nashville in weeks to come.
