I remember Vernia and her many stories about knowing Father Arnold when they were young and living in Memphis. Her wonderful smile was a gift she shared with everyone she met. I am thankful to have know Vernia.

Dear Family,

Deepest sympathy in the passing of your beloved Vernia. I enjoyed knowing Vernia when I first moved to Franklin over 20 years ago, then again after several of us joined together in the group of Widows of St. Philip. Vernia was always a go-getter with a mission and first to volunteer as a helper. Her spritely spirit and loving manner will always remain in my memory.

May you treasure many fond memories as her everlasting legacy.

Sincerely,

Claudia Finnegan

We remember she told us she dated Father Arnold BEFORE he became a priest. Father Arnold acknowledged it AFTER a while.

Vernia sat in the pew in front of us or beside us at St. Philip for many years. We loved her joyful manner and smile! She exuded a true Christian spirit.

Vernia was one of those gems in our life that we will miss. We use to also see her at Publix and so enjoyed our enchanting conversations with her. Her memory will be kept our hearts and we will never forget her wonderful influence on us.
