

Bill was born on June 30th, 1953 in Lexington, KY to the late Katherine Wilson Blue Brown and William Earl Bohon, Sr. Following college graduation, he began his accomplished career in Cincinnati, OH. Shortly thereafter he married his college sweetheart and started a family. Following a brief return to Lexington, he settled into his longtime home in Brentwood, TN. Bill was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church for over 30 years. He spent many years volunteering as soccer coach for his children’s teams and as Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America Troop 1, Middle Tennessee Council. Bill was successful in business with an extensive career in Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, working at Arthur Andersen, ARMCO Steel, Coopers & Lybrand, Community Mutual Insurance Co., Host Communications, Service Merchandise, Dollar General, and Franke. His greatest achievement was his family. He also loved genealogy and history.
He attended Mary Todd Elementary, Bryan Station Junior and Senior High Schools in Lexington, KY, and received both a Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and a MBA from the University of Kentucky. He also was a licensed CPA.
He is survived by his beloved wife Ruth Anne Sutherland Bohon, one daughter Elizabeth Blue Bohon Thach (Dara) of Boston, MA, two sons William Earl Bohon, III “Trey” (Laura Ross) of Austin, TX, and Andrew Carter Bohon (Avery) of Franklin, TN, four grandchildren Benjamin Bohon Thach, Alexander Hua Thach, Katherine Blue Thach, and Landon Carter Bohon, his brother, Charles Thomas Bohon (Amy) of Lexington, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, step-father Marion G. Brown, grandparents John Blue Jr., Lucy Ellen Wilson Blue “Nell”, Wilson Earl Bohon, Louise Mattingly Taylor and step-grandfather Charles Thomas Taylor.
A graveside service will be held at the Lexington Cemetery on Saturday, April 2nd at 2:00pm. Visitation prior to service will be held 11:30am-1:30pm at Milward Funeral Directors 159 N Broadway, Lexington, KY 40507. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of William Bohon to the Massachusetts General Hospital Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
