HEADRICK-LONG, Camille Marie, age 18, of Weeki Wachee passed away on May 6th of injuries related to a car accident at Regional Medical Center of Bayonet Point. She fought for life for two days before she succumbed to her injuries. When first getting her driver’s license, she chose to become an organ donor and as her final act of kindness and generosity, she gave others life. Camille is survived by her father and mother: Jefferson and Susan Long; 4 sisters: Amanda, Jennifer, Kaitlynn and Amber; 6 brothers: Jeff, Justin, Timothy, Anthony, John and James; 2 nieces: Savannah and Brooke and 3 nephews: Cayden, Trace and Braxton. She is also survived by Robin Hickethier; grandfather: Heinz Hickethier, several other more distant relatives, and many, many close, cherished friends, including her fellow Class of 2015 graduates at WWHS. Camille was an honors student and an active member of sports at Weeki Wachee High School, participating in soccer, weightlifting, track, and volleyball teams. Additionally, Camille aspired to follow a nursing path and planned to attend PHSC in the fall. Weeki Wachee’s principal, Troy LaBarbara, ensured she graduated before she passed away. More importantly, Camille was a friend to everyone. She often was found helping someone in need and offering an ear to anyone who needed advice or to vent. Her outgoing personality and kindhearted nature was refreshing and infectious – it was impossible not to smile as soon as she entered a room. Her unending loyalty to those in her life and dedication to her morals and standing up for what was right made her a wonderful daughter, sister, and an even better friend. Camille’s Celebration of Life Ceremony will be Saturday, May 16th at Christian Church in the Wildwood, 10056 Country Road, Weeki Wachee beginning at 4pm. All are welcome to attend.
