
Carl started life in Miami, Florida on November 19, 1947. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh Wallis Pilcher and Sarah Elizabeth Key Pilcher, and his beloved wife of twenty-two years, Linda Kay Rowland Pilcher. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Scott Robert and Amanda Pilcher; daughter, Meghan Elisabeth Rowland Pilcher; brother and sister-in-law, Joe Wallis and Debbie Pilcher; grandson, Scott Robert Pilcher II; 2 step-grandchildren, Rebecca Allor (David) and Brandon Stone.
Carl attended college in Atlanta, GA and went on to establish a career in the meat packing industry. During the course of his career he was a buyer as well as a sales manager. At various points he served as a guardian ad litem, an elder care ombudsman and as a member of the Brooksville Housing Authority. Carl was a great cook, an accomplished equestrian, an amateur World War II historian and collector of memorabilia. He was also a Master Mason of Tucker Lodge #42 in Tucker, GA, a Scottish Rite Mason of Jacksonville, FL and a Shriner of Morocco Temple. He will be greatly missed by his family and wide circle of friends.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 5:00pm-8:00pm, Friday, August 4, 2017 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00am, Saturday, August 5, 2017. Pastor Edd Denton will be officiating. Burial to follow at Brooksville Cemetery.
