Carol was born to Frank & Violet Moore and grew up in South Bend, Indiana with her brother, Dave Moore (Patsy) & sister, Bonnie Kuzmits (Don). After graduation from Adams High School, Carol became a Registered Nurse (RN) and met the love of her life, George “Tom” Churchill. They were later married on February 20, 1965 and would spend the next 54 years and 10 months together. They had four children, Brian Churchill (Maria) of N. Muskegon, Michigan, Matt Churchill (Nancy) of St. Joseph, Michigan, Amy Cribley (Arlyn) of Byron Center, Michigan and Dan Churchill (Leah) of Land O' Lakes, Florida.
Carol was proud of her children and loved being a mother but her greatest title was, “Bugga,” who her (17) grandchildren and (2) great-grandchildren called her affectionately. She referred to them as her, “Tinklies,” and gave them each a nickname to refer them by. Carol also has two additional great-grandchildren on the way and she was anxious to meet them! They, along with her family and friends, will know and feel her love as her memory has touched our hearts forever.
She always put her family over herself. She was a 4-H leader, Cub Scout leader, and supporter of her children's many sports, music, religious, scouting, and other adventures. She was a proud Notre Dame fan! Unquestionably she was the best chocolate chip maker around. She had a strong sense of humor and determination. Carol and Tom raised their family and set roots in Fruitport, Michigan before they retired splitting time between Fountain, Michigan and Brooksville, Florida. Carol is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dave; nephew, John Kuzmits; and special friend, Virginia Pierce who she loved to, “have lunch with.”
There are not enough words that can describe the loving, caring and nurturing person that we have lost. Carol was committed to her Catholic faith and that Jesus had died for her sins. Carol never thought of death as an ending but a new beginning. We can all cry, laugh and smile knowing that she is with her loved ones in Heaven.
A celebration of Carol's life will be held from
3:00-4:30pm, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Brookridge Golf Club.
