Cecil C. Booker

BOOKER, Cecil Cleveland, age 80 of Spring Hill,FL passed away Thurs., Feb. 24, 2005. He was born May 12, 1924 in Goodway, Alabama and moved to Spring Hill 7 years ago from Merritt Island, FL. He retired from NASA after 32 years and then worked for 5 years for Boeing in the Space program. Mr. Booker was a Disabled Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #353 and the D.A.V. of Merritt Island and attended the Northcliffe Baptist Church, Spring Hill, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover C. and Mamie McNiel Booker, sister, Geneva Booker Perry and brother, Thomas Harold Booker.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Thelma; Sons & Daughters-in-law: James O. & Laurie D. Booker of Texarkana, TX and Duane Allen & Peggy Jean Jarvis of Hudson, FL; Sister: Ferol B. Mathis of Pensacola, FL; Grandchildren: Darlene Renee Duecker of Seguin, TX, Barry Richard Jarvis of Converse, TX, Justy Lee Irvin of Seguin, TX, Benjamin James, Bailey Chilen and Mary Leanne Booker all of Texarkana, TX; Great Grandchildren: Joseph Alan Tomlin of California, Clara Elizabeth Tomlin of San Antonio, TX, David Irvin, Jr. of Seguin, TX, Duane Zachary Jarvis of San Antonio, TX and Calie Ann Jarvis of Converse, TX; Great Great Grandchildren: David Irvin, III of Seguin, TX and Skylar Tomlin of California. Visitation for friends will be 10-11am, Mon., Feb. 28, 2005 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill, FL, where funeral services will begin at 11:00am, with Dr. Paul Clemons officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be James O. Booker, Benjamin James Booker, Duane Allen Jarvis, Barry Richard Jarvis and Clifford Shepard.
