DOHERTY, Charles E., 82, of Weeki Wachee, Florida, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at the HPH Hospice Care Center.

He was born September 6, 1936 in Queens, New York and came to this area 35 years ago from Long Island, New York. He was a United States Navy veteran, a retired New York City Police Officer and a parishioner of St. Theresa Catholic Church.

He is preceded in death by stepdaughter, Julia Maiorino. He is survived by his wife, Alice Doherty; sons, Charles Doherty of Spring Hill, Florida and Michael Doherty of Los Angeles, California; daughter, Barbara Misener of Trinity, Florida; stepsons, Neil Maiorino of Homosassa, Florida and Michael Maiorino of Lake Worth, Florida; and ten grandchildren.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30-11:30am, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, followed by

a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 12:00pm,

with Reverend Bruce King officiating.
