He was born April 12, 1929 in Elmira, New York and came to this area 28 years ago. He served in the United States Army and was a painter by trade working for New York City Painting Union for over 30 years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion and was of the Nazarene faith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Knapp; sons and daughter-in-law, John "Mike" & Kathy Knapp of New York and Marc Knapp of St. Louis, Missouri; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra Wilbur of Lakeland, Florida, Brenda & Walter Brown of New York and Sheila & Mike Vandyke of New York; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
