Charles Peter Petrie

PETRIE, Charles Peter, age 76, of Brooksville, FL passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, FL. Born in New York City, NY, he came to this area 12 years ago from Cudjoe Key, FL. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and the owner of Smith Boats in Pompano and Sebastian, FL. Charles was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was predeceased by his son, George. Charles is survived by his wife of 29 years: Sally Ann of Brooksville, FL; daughters: MaryKay Benson of Gurden, AR; Pollyanna Herrara  of  Denver, CO; brother and sister-in-law: Peter and Kathleen Petri of Fort Pierce, FL; brother: Martin Petri of Thailand; sister: Marilyn Sullivan of Santa Fe, NM; niece: Bianca Marie Bonito of Gainesville, FL; 2 grandchildren: Melanie and Daniel Benson. A memorial service will be at 11:30am, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel. Inurnment to follow at 1:30pm at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
