

Born June 29, 1933 in Southern Ohio to Clifford “Ernie” Bryant and Sadie Mae (Wilson) Bryant.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet “Granny” (Collett) Bryant and his son-in-law, Randall Herdman.
He is survived by a large family, sisters-in-law, Linda McCoy of Wheelersburg OH, Barbara Evans (Dick) of Franklin Furnace OH, and Geneva Collett also of Wheelersburg OH; his two daughters, Wanda Bailey (Terry) of Masaryktown Fl and Carol Herdman of New Boston OH; five grandchildren, Curtis Herdman of Portsmouth OH, Dr. Nathan Takas (Tara) of Tallahassee FL, Randy Dale Herdman (Sherri) of West Portsmouth OH, Douglas Bailey (Melissa) of Inverness FL, and Sarah Herdman (Bucky Skaggs) of Minford OH; 20 great-grandchildren, Jacob Grate of Kentucky, Sierrah Foit of Minford OH, Makayla Wheeler of West Portsmouth OH, Briana Bailey of Tampa FL, Noah Bailey of Ocala FL, Reagan Bailey of Brooksville FL, Sydney Takas of Tallahassee, FL, Alexis Takas of Tallahassee FL, Searrah Bianconi of Brooksville FL, Kaylin Grace Bailey of Brooksville FL, Makenlie Faith Bailey of Brooksville FL, Breanna Pezzuti of Inverness FL, Sophia Pezzuti of Inverness FL, Brennan Overly of West Portsmouth OH, Kendal Matthews of West Portsmouth OH, Lucas Herdman of Minford OH, Abagail Herdman of Minford OH, Brooklyn Herdman of Minford OH, Julia Takas of Tallahassee FL, Madeline Takas of Tallahassee FL; seven great-grandchildren and three more due to be born.
Curtis was a veteran of the Marine Corps and the Korean Conflict. He and his wife served with the New Hope Assembly of God’s Promise House Food Pantry for more than 20 years feeding the hungry in the community. He served as a deacon, usher, and a long-term member of the New Hope Assembly of God Church.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00-6:00pm, Monday, October 13, 2025 at Merritt Funeral Home (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville FL 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 6:00pm.
