Daniel Lee Bishop

BISHOP, Daniel Lee age 28 of Tampa, formerly of Port Richey, died Sun., Oct. 15, 2006. Born in York, PA he came back to the area six weeks ago from Ft. Bragg, Fayetteville, NC. He was a US Army Veteran, 82nd Airborne field Artillery, Paratrooper, served two tours in Iraq, graduate of Ridgewood High School, New Port Richey, was Captain of the Football team, recipient of the Army Commendation Medal (3rd award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), National Defense Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Kosovo Campaign Medal, and NATO Medal. Survivors include his father and step-mother: Kenneth and Terri Bishop of Holly Springs, NC; mother and step-father: Carol and Terry Thacker of Weeki Wachee; maternal grandmother: Helen Sweenie of Plant City, NC; four half brothers: Ki, Kaden, Bryson, and Gannon Bishop all of Holly Springs, NC; one sister & brother-in-law: Collyn & Ati Solo of Layton, UT; and two half sisters: Camri, Brielle Bishop both of Holly Springs, NC.Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Fri., Oct. 20, 2006 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brooksville with Bishop Rod Cooper officiating. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
