

David “Chick” Richard Hagan, Sr., 77, passed away September 21, 2018 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born and raised in Largo, Florida and graduated from Largo High School. He was well known as the captain and quarterback of the football team in 1958 and 1959, All-County and All-State, as well as the captain of the basketball team in 1958 and 1959, All-County and All-State. He was very patriotic and loved his country. He proudly served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War era. He retired from Florida Power Corporation after 35 years as a lineman.
He is survived by the love of his life and high school sweetheart, his wife: Jeanette; children: Denise Dunham, Sherise Hatcher and her husband Patrick, Terry Hagan and her fiancé Sandy Bommarito, David Hagan, Jr. and his wife Bonnie; grandchildren: Nicholas Hoerl, Daniel Hatcher, Jeremy Kay, Brandon Kay, Melissa Hatcher, Tabatha Hagan, Danielle Hagan; great-grandchild: Austin Hoerl; brother: Robert Hagan; sister: Janie Mullins; in-laws: Connie Magilligan and her husband Tom, Patty Cremeans, Barbara McCready and her husband Jim, Robert Ensch and his wife Janice, John Ensch and his wife Terri, Susan Fernandez and her husband Joe, Kathy Bennett and her husband Scott; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents: Archie and Lorene Hagan.
He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many family and friends.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:00-2:00pm, Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services will begin at 2:00pm.
