He was born on June 11, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, and was a sixth-generation member of his family to call Florida home. He enjoyed and respected Florida's native wildlife, especially reptiles, a love he instilled and fostered in his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had the privilege of witnessing its remarkable growth in Florida, often driving long distances to speak in widely dispersed congregations.
Having lived most of his life in Tampa, he graduated from King High School and moved to Brooksville 12 years ago to enjoy nature and the slower pace of country life. David married Janet Attmore in 1969, for time and all eternity. Faithfully together, they welcomed six children into their home.
David is now at peace and is survived by his devoted and loving wife of nearly 56 years; his children and their spouses, David (Karen), Jason (Anna), Jared (Kimberly), Stephen (Annie), Keith, and Karen (William Cooper); and his 11 grandchildren, Kristina (and her husband, Ben Berman), Kyle, Allison, Colin, Lauren, Evelyn, Joshua, Alyssa, Kayla, Trevor, Tim; and their loyal dog, Lucy.
A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Saturday, June 21, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (21043 Yontz Road, Brooksville, FL 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 11:00am. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:30pm at Florida Hills Memorial Gardens (14360 Spring Hill Drive, Spring Hill, FL 34609).
