David Lee Rimmer

He was born February 21, 1953 to the late David E., Jr. and Virginia "Jenny" Vandyke Rimmer. He was the grandson of the late James and Dollie Davis and Ellis and Dismal Rimmer of the Richlands area.  David was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1971. David was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had made his home in the Florida area for the past 40 years.  He loved woodworking and  was a master carpenter, and an avid fisherman. 

He is survived by his wife:  Virginia "Jenny" Rimmer; sons and daughters-in-law: Daniel & Lauren Hawkins of Auburn, Alabama and Joseph & Renee Hawkins of Springville, Alabama; daughter and son-in-law: Rebekah & Nate Jones of Spring Hill, Florida; sister and brother-in-law: Susie and James Clark  of Richlands, Virginia; aunt: Janie and her husband, Jerry Hale of Russell County, Virginia; uncle: Adolphus and his wife, Kim Davis of Pounding Mill, Virginia; nieces: Suzanne Barton and Christina Brown of Richlands, Virginia; great niece: SaraGrace Barton of Richlands, Virginia; three grandchildren: Hayleigh Jones, Nathan Jones, and Noah Hawkins and a host of family and friends also survive. 

A Gathering for family and friends will be held from 5:00-6:00pm, Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel, where a Memorial Service begins at 6:00pm.
