Dennis Laurance Stokes

He was born in Nyack, New York and came to this area 27 years ago from West Bloomfield, Michigan.  He was an Executive Vice President in the Hotel and Apartment industry and parishioner of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He did pro bono work for the Silverthorn Country Club Architectural Review Committee, a volunteer firefighter, a boxer and a hockey player.  He truly enjoyed being on the water, fishing, windsurfing, and scuba diving.  He was extremely active outside the water, rollerblading, bicycling, walking, and enjoying time outside with his cherished puppy Bella socializing with all the neighbors. He had a high moral standing and enjoyed helping others any chance he had. He was a blessing to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Heidi Stokes; daughters and sons-in-law: Stacey & Michael Wiseman of Oregon, Ohio, Kerri & Tim Guest of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Jennifer & Harry Morrison of Spring Hill, Florida; brothers: Kevin Stokes of Chestnut Ridge, New York and Bruce Stokes of West Nyack, New York; sister: Brenda Piller of Chestnut Ridge, New York; grandchildren; Taran Donaldson, Mickey Wiseman, Timothy Guest Jr., Dennis Guest, Gabriella Guest, Zachary Guest, Elisabeth Guest, Daniel Guest, Kimberelysia Guest, Catherine Morrison; great-grandchildren: Jayden Donaldson, Raelynn Donaldson and Lena Donaldson.

It was his wishes that we do not mourn for him, therefore, there will be no services.
