Dr. Donald J. "Doc" Hensley

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he moved with his family to Brooksville at the age of 2.  Doc Hensley was retired owner and operator of Hensley Chiropractic Clinic and was on the Board for the Florida Chiropractic Association, a member of the American Chiropractic Association, Alumni of the National College of Chiropractic and a member of Chiropractic Knights of the Round Table.  He was a former member of St. Mary Episcopal Church, Dade City and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Brooksville.  He served the Brooksville Community for many years, serving for seven years as Director of Hernando Youth League, a member of the Hernando County School Board for eight years and football team doctor for 30 plus years at Hernando High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Earl and Helen Hensley.  Survivors include his sons:  Blair and Ethan Hensley, both of Brooksville, Florida; brothers:  Dr. Omer Hensley of Brooksville, Florida, Dale Hensley of Huntington Beach, California and Dr. Scott Hensley of Tampa, Florida. 

The family will receive friends 4 – 6:00pm, Monday, December 4, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Brooksville, where memorial services will begin at 6:00pm, with Reverend Bill Shaw officiating.
