BLACKMON, Evelyn Janice, age 55 of Brooksville passed away at home under the care of Hospice & her loving husband & family on Tues., Feb. 17, 2004. Born in Lacoochee, FL she came here 22 years ago from Dade City. She graduated from Pasco High School in 1966, graduated with honors from St. Leo College in 1970 with a Bachelors degree, a member of the American Association of University Women, a school teacher in GA for 1&1/2 years, worked for the Florida Highway Patrol for 7 years, was a retired Supervisor for the Florida Dept. of Corrections Parole & Probation after 30 years and attended St. John's Episcopal Church of Brooksville.Survivors include her Husband: Tommy; Brother: William Martin of Dade City; Sister: Charlotte Brooks of Dade City; Mother: Margaret Martin of Dade City; Niece: Lisa Saviola of Tampa; Uncle J.L. Sikes of Spring Lake, Uncle Richard Sikes of Texas; Aunt Evelyn Martin of Temple Terrace.Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am, Fri., Feb. 20, 2004 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel with Rev. Leroy E. Jones officiating.
