DURAN, Francis Manuel, passed away with his family at his side holding his hand on December 24th, 2014. He was born September 24, 1937 in Tampa, Florida, son of Ambrosia Michael Duran and Mary Margaret Price. He proudly served as a U.S. Marine at Camp Lejeune with the Shore Party working as a heavy crane operator. Frank loved his time in the Marine Corps, traveling the world aboard ship. He loved to reminisce about his Marine Corps days and would tell fond stories about working in a bathing suit and combat boots in the tropics. Semper Fi! After the Marine Corps he worked as a large engine mechanic for Ryder Truck Systems until retirement. Frank loved reading, boating, country music, Western movies, cheap beer, and most of all, his wife, whom he lovingly called ‘Angel’. He was full of life and laughter and everyone who met him loved him. He was a gentle, kind, wonderful father and husband who will be forever missed and never forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 58 years, Faye Annette Dees Duran; children: Denise Duran, Frank Duran, Jr., Debra Duran-Bornstein (husband Michael Bornstein) Michael Duran and Dean Duran; brother: Edward Michael Duran, and several grandchildren. He is predeceased by his younger brother, James Marvin Duran. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Brooksville, Florida.
