KIRK, George Russell, age 65 of Spring Hill, FL, died February 3, 2005 at Morton Plant Mease Hospital of Clearwater, FL. Born in North Branch, New Jersey he came here 10 years ago from Tampa, FL. He retired as First Sergeant from the U.S. Army after serving for 23 years, was a Green Beret, Special Forces and a veteran of the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He worked for 25 years in the U.S. Postal Service in Tampa & Clearwater and was a disciplinary administrator for River Ridge Middle/High School with the Pasco County Public School System. He held a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, was a member of the Sea Creatures Bowling Team at Mariner Lanes, the Masonic Lodge, Nashua, New Hampshire and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Masaryktown, FL. Survivors include his Wife: Alicia; Sons: Joe of Cocoa Beach, FL and Denny of Dover, FL; Daughters: Machelle & Dawn both of Cocoa Beach, FL; Brothers & Sisters-in-law: Herbert & Betty of Aurora, CO and William & June of Waterville, ME; Sisters & Brothers-in-law: Marion & Larry Wells of Lynchburg, VA and Margaret & Norman Taflinger of Goldsboro, NC; 4 Grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his Parents, Herbert & Wilma Kirk and Brother, Edward Kirk.Visitation for friends will be 9-11am, Thurs., Feb. 10, 2005 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Masaryktown, where funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Rev. David Brockhoff officiating.
