Georgianna was born on October 14, 1928, in Babylon, New York, to Leroy Austin and Marie Smith. She spent most of her life in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she devoted herself to both family and career.
She completed her nursing training at Sacred Heart Hospital in Manchester and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the emergency room. Over the course of her career, Georgianna also worked for Stephen Tzianabos, MD and later at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown, New Hampshire, where her compassion and dedication to patient care were deeply valued.
After retiring, Georgianna moved to Lakeland, Florida, where she embraced her many interests. She loved creating and working on dollhouses, was an avid gardener, and found great joy in reading. Always active and giving, she volunteered faithfully at a local thrift shop near her home.
Georgianna is survived by her children, Christopher Kazakis of Brooksville, FL, James (Pat) Kazakis of St. Augustine, FL, Christine (Roger) Lemay of Manchester, NH, and Carol (John) Nunn of Melbourne, FL. She is also lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A private family gathering will be held at Merritt Funeral Home in Brooksville, Florida, later this month. She will be laid to rest at a private ceremony next to her husband at the State Veteran Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Georgianna’s memory to a charity of one’s choice, in honor of her lifelong dedication to caring for others.
