FUNERAL NOTICEHOLMES, Gerald J., age 76 of Spring Hill died Fri., Nov. 14, 2008 at Hernando Pasco Hospice Care Center in Brooksville. Born in Garden City, NY he came to this area 21 years ago from Uniondale, NY. He retired as a Supervisor for The Town of Hempstead Public Water Works, was a Proud US Marine Corp Korean Conflict Veteran where he received the Silver Star and 2 Purple Hearts, was a Life Member of Marine Corp League 708, VFW Post 10209, Moose Lodge 521 and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his son: Wayne Roy Holmes.Survivors include his wife: Carol; daughter and son-in-law: Debra H. & Michael Nigro of Spring Hill; sisters: Barbara Cochrane of Sarasota, FL, Marion Harrington of San Diego, CA; 3 grandchildren: Michael W. Nigro, Lindsey C. Nigro & Ryan J. Nigro, all of Spring Hill and many loving nieces and nephews.Visitation for friends will be 4-7PM Wed., Nov. 19, 2008 at Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel where a funeral service with Military Honors will be conducted.
