ROMAN, Irene D., age 83 of Spring Hill passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012. Born in Chicago, IL she came to this area 32 years ago from San Diego, CA. She was a homemaker. An avid animal lover and dog rescuer, she worked extensively with the Humane Society of the Nature Coast and SPCA of Tampa Bay. A Tribune article referred to her as “The Dog Lady of Spring Hill” because she loved and rescued many, many of her furry friends, at one time having 13 in the house at the same time. She was predeceased by her husband: William A. Roman. She is survived by her furry babies: Gina & Amanda and many loving friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of the Nature Coast and SPCA of Tampa Bay.
