Campbell, Jacquelyn A. (Driscoll) “Jackie” age 82, of Portland, Maine passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, peacefully at her daughter’s home in Florida with family at her side. She was born in Portland, Maine on April 22, 1934 to John D. and Evelyn (McLean) Driscoll at St Barnabas Hospital on Woodfords St., Portland, Maine. She was Baptized at St. Joseph’s Church and attended Portland area schools. On September 7, 1953 she married the love of her life, Leo Campbell, and they then began their 63 year adventure together. Jackie worked at Brighton Avenue Pharmacy, BCBS, had her own daycare business and retired from the Portland School Department after 27+ years. Throughout her life, Jackie built long-lasting and cherished relationships. She had an easygoing personality, wit and humor. She loved her family and friends and a good card game. Luck favored her in bingo and the 50/50 raffle. She had many funny little songs, sayings and anecdotes that she shared over the card table which could have you in stitches. During her retirement years, she and Leo became “snowbirds” wintering in Florida. She was devoted to her family, loved get-togethers and the beach. She was predeceased by her parents, her beloved sister, Jean Flaherty and niece, Faith. She is survived by her husband, Leo, daughter, Laurie (Karen), and her son James. She also leaves her treasured grandchildren, Tyler (Andrea), Sydney, Spencer and her great granddaughter, Isabelle. Sadly she will miss the birth of her great grandson, Pierce, this March. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family…oohhh, yes, Rudolph her 4 legged grandson who was her constant companion during her last months. A celebration of life will take place at 11:00am, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Community Center of Hillside Mobile Home Park, Zephyrhills, Florida. A memorial service will take place in the spring at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland, Maine with a reception following. Details will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her memory, to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
