
He was born March 15, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois and came to Brooksville 52 years ago. Jim lived a life of service and kindness, serving his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, the Hernando and Pinellas communities as a police officer, and his family, friends and faith. Jim was proud of his Native American heritage and was a member of the Kiowa Native American tribe. He was active in the Native American Church and volunteered for schools, youth sports, and Native American events preserving the Kiowa heritage.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” James & Amy D. Anderson of Nevada, Texas and Michael Merle Anderson of Brooksville, Florida; daughter, Cindy Connolly of Hernando, Florida; ex-wife, Amy Anderson of Brooksville, Florida; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
