Jenny L. Skipper

Born November 23, 1937 in Charleston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Charles Sr. and Miriam Cannon.  She came to Brooksville 49 years ago from Miami, Florida and worked as a bus driver for Hernando County Schools.  She was a devoted and very active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and past president of The Council of Catholic Women (CCW).  She was a member of the Hernando County School Bus Rodeo and a member of the State Championship Team, which also went to Nationals.  During their retirement, she and her late husband, Bob, traveled extensively and belonged to several RV clubs.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” L. Skipper Jr., son, Bobby Skipper;, parents, Charles Sr. and Miriam Cannon, and brother, Charles Cannon.  She is survived by her daughter, Catherine Liverance of Deltona, Florida; her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael & Rhonda Skipper of Brooksville, Florida, David & Juanita Skipper of Havana, Florida, Dan & Becky Skipper of Running Springs, California, Patrick & Trish Skipper of Brooksville, Florida, and Richard & Lyuda Skipper of Alpharetta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am, Friday, March 11, 2022 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Garden and a luncheon will be served in the St. Joan of Arc Parish Hall after the Inurnment. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Jenny’s honor to Camp Pondo,

a Christian youth camp under the executive direction of Dan and Becky Skipper.
