Joaquim J. Maria

He was born March 2, 1926 in Cazavel, Portugal and came to this area ten years ago from Hartford, Connecticut.  He loved his family, his garden and the outdoors.  He was employed as a mold maker for a firearms manufacturer and was a member of St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Irene R. Maria; daughters and son-in-law: Carminda Conceicao Silva and Deolinda & Paul Pedemonti of Brooksville, Florida; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

On Saturday, March 24, 2018, a Visitation for family and friends will be held at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel at 11:30am-12:30pm followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated by Reverend Michael Kouts at 1:00pm at St. Anthony the Abbot Catholic Church.  Burial will follow at Spring Lake Cemetery.
