Joseph Richard Desiderio

DESIDERIO, Joseph R., 73, of Homosassa, FL died Friday, August 26, 2016.  He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the only son of Alphonse Desiderio and Jean (Pendolino) Desiderio. Joe loved to travel and called several places home during his life. Time was mostly spent between New Jersey and Montana. He came to the area 6 years ago to enjoy the warmer weather and Florida living. He was a marine engineer with the Merchant Marines and a talented self-taught gunsmith. He loved his family, hunting, fishing, good food and his dogs. He will be missed.

Joe is survived by his son: Darius Desiderio of Dingmans Ferry, PA; his daughter & son-in-law: Corinne & Gregory Poor of West Newbury, MA and two grandsons: Cameron and Tanner; sister: Margaret Graham of California and nephews, Andrew and Christian; his ex-wife, Peg Lyons of Dingmans Ferry, PA; his Uncle, Noel Desmond of Chiefland, FL and many cousins.

Services will be private and held at the discretion of his family. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated in Joe’s memory to Humane Society of Citrus County FL PO Box 2283, Inverness, FL  34451.
