Born in Chicago, IL he came to this area 29 years ago from Prospect Heights, IL. He was a general contractor for Samsson Construction in Hernando Beach and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church.Survivors include his wife: Lynn Matassa; son and daughter-in-law: Richard & Tabatha Matassa of Hernando Beach; daughters and son-in-law: Tracy & Dr. David Terzigni of Hernando Beach and Tina Matassa & Jay of Spring Hill; sisters: JoAnn Lowry of Libertyville, IL, Joyce Lary of Hernando Beach, Barbara Matassa of Spring Hill, Charlene Berger of Lake Zurich, IL; 8 grandchildren: Lorrey, Anthony, Andrea, Samantha, Joseph, Richard, David & Allison and many loving extended family and friends.Visitation for friends will be 4-8pm Thursday, August 20, 2009 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 12:00pm Friday, August 21, 2009.
