Julius C. Hughes

He was born October 25, 1958 in Brooksville where he resided most of his life.  He was an over-the-road truck driver and Baptist by faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Bond and Margaret Holloway; and his brothers, James Hughes and Timothy Sommer.  He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Ava Hughes; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremy Hughes & Diana Alvarez-Hughes of Lakeland, Florida, Timothy Hughes and his finance, Melissa Kenneally of Hernando, Florida, Andrew & India Hughes of Lineville, Alabama, and James & Bianca Hughes of Lakeland, Florida; daughters and son-in-law, Julie Croft of Michigan, Jennifer Hughes of Michigan, and Crystle & Thomas Haner of Citrus County, Florida; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff & Melinda Bond of Bulls Gap, Tennessee, Steven Sommer and Willie Honea, both of Brooksville, Florida; sister-in-law, Vicki Sommer of Brooksville, Florida; 16 grandchildren.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 11:00am-1:00pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Merritt Funeral Home, Brooksville Chapel, where Funeral Services begin at 1:00pm, with Reverend Rudolph Fulgham officiating.  Burial will follow at Lake Lindsey Cemetery.
