June Nancy Steward

STEWARD, June N., 85, of Brooksville, FL, passed peacefully while surrounded by her family on July 10, 2012. June was born in Canterbury, England in 1927, growing up in the small village of Chartham Hatch during the war years. She met her future husband, Arthur, at this time, marrying in 1948 and moving to South Africa. From there she lived an adventurous life in Canada, France, Germany and the U.S. where she eventually settled. June touched all with her gifts and sweetness, knitting sweaters for her grandchildren, playing the piano at her church and being the most wonderful and loving mother to her five children. She is survived by her husband of 64 years; daughters: Lynette Ruths of Brooksville, Diane Steward of Land O' Lakes, FL; Carolyn Sherman of Ogden, UT; sons: Gary Steward, Esq., of Montreal, Canada; Richard Steward of Toronto, Canada; grandsons: Shawn Ruths of Brooksville, FL; Isaac and Tyler Valadez; Ryan and Jason Sherman, all of Ogden, UT; Philippe Bourgoin-Steward of Montreal, Canada; granddaughter: Rande Hilliard of Cambridge, Canada; Rachael Sherman of Ogden, UT; Lara Steward of Montreal, Canada; Christina Bourgoin-Leblanc of Ottawa, Canada; Genevieve, Jamie and Haley Steward, all of Toronto, Canada; great grandsons: Andrew and Taylor Martin of Cambridge, Canada; Isaiah and Andrew Valadez, both of Ogden, UT; Richard and Matthew Prentice and Jack Lucier, all of Toronto, Canada;  great-granddaughters: Brenna Ruths of Brooksville, FL; Amy Penagos-Steward of Montreal, Canada;  A memorial service will be held at 11am, Monday,  July 16, 2012 at Merritt Funeral Home, 2 South Lemon Ave., Brooksville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in June’s memory to Lake Lindsey United Methodist Church, 22400 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville, FL 34601..……..Now playing with the angels.
