RAASS, Lawrence A., age 99 of Spring Hill died Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Oak Hill Hospital. He came to this area 30 years ago from his native Detroit, MI. He was a tool grinder for Chrysler Corp. and a charter member of Spring Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law: Dr. David and Roberta Raass of Naples, FL; daughters & son-in-law: Patricia Piecuch of Dayton, OH, Lois Simard of Petoskey, MI and Lynda and Preben Christensen of Murphy, NC; sister: Ruth Sammer of Hendersonville, NC; 12 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. Visitation for friends will be 12-1pm Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel where a funeral service will be conducted at 1pm. Burial will follow at Florida Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Spring Hill Christian Academy at Spring Hill Baptist Church.
