

She was a resident of Brooksville, Florida. Born on November 17, 1952, Linda lived a life marked by steadfast faith, quiet strength, and a deep devotion to those she loved most.
From an early age, Linda carried forward a commitment to learning and purpose. She graduated from Florida State University in 1975—an achievement that reflected both diligence and the wisdom she would share throughout her life.
In 1982, Linda married Skevos Theodore in Kissimmee, Florida. She was deeply devoted to her family and cherished her children above all, offering a love that was constant, generous, and unwavering.
Linda devoted her life’s work to education, serving as a teacher in many capacities and reaching students across generations. She taught everything from English, middle and high schoolers, special education, and GED adult education, meeting each classroom with patience, resolve, and a selfless belief in the potential of others. Through her years of hard work, she became a beloved presence to many, offering guidance that was as practical as it was inspirational.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Burrows Fickett and Dorothy Marie Fickett; her brother-in-law, Charles “Al” Parish; her grandchild, Izzy Theodore; and her great-grandchild, Dempsey Moreno.
Linda is survived by her husband of 44 years, Skevos Theodore; her children, John (Sarah) Theodore, Jason Bryant, Stephen (Meghan) Theodore, and Susan (Zachary) Sherraden; her grandchildren, Mollie, Maddox, Caroline, Carson, Milam, Reid, and Merrick; her siblings, Stephen (Karin) Fickett, Susan Parish, Nancy (David) Ruffin, Bonnie Butler, and Robert (Sandra) Fickett; many loved nieces and nephews; and all of her beloved friends, students and coworkers.
A Memorial Gathering for family and friends will be held from 3:00-4:00pm on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Merritt Funeral Home (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601), where a Celebration of Life will begin at 4:00pm.
