She was born December 3, 1940 in Pilgrim, Kentucky and came to the area 15 years ago from Grayson, Kentucky. She was the owner of a bakery distribution business.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Pfau and her son, John B. Smith Jr. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Phyllis & John Gailbraith of Wichita, Kansas, Donna Huisdas of Sicklerville, New Jersey, Judy Andrews of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Heather Deconto of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; step-son and daughter-in-law: John M. and Diane Pfau of Grayson, Kentucky; sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
