Oma Lee Vance

Oma Lee is survived by her two daughters, Chrissie Zoucha of Brooksville and Janice Sizemore of Crystal River; sister, Carol Hall of Webster; four grandchildren, Jesse (Abby) Harris of Ocala, Kristi (Matt) King of Pahrump, NV, Katy (Richard) Bennett of Brooksville, and Sarah (Emory) Strachan of Spring Hill; ten great-grandchildren, Shaylee and Sydnee Harris, Brycen Foust, Faith, Kent, Brandt and Rhett Bennett, and Amory, Emory Jr., and Avery Strachan; two bonus great-grandchildren, Zoe and Zach King; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Oma Lee is preceded in death by her husband, Clark E Vance; her parents, Jim & Genevieve Graham; her sister, Pat Hull; and brothers-in-law, Bill Hull and Udell Hall.

Oma Lee was born in Istachatta, Florida on October 26, 1932. She was the oldest of three sisters. Oma Lee started her educational journey at the Istachatta School House, before attending Hernando High School. She graduated with the Class of 1950.

Shortly after graduating, she married the love of her life, Clark E. Vance, in the fall of 1950. After Clark returned from his service with the Army, they moved to Jefferson Street in Brooksville to raise their beloved daughters, Chrissie and Janice. A few years later, they moved to their home on top of the hill on Ederington Drive. Oma Lee spent her forty-year career at Hernando State Bank (then later became SunBank/SunTrust/Truist) where she retired as Vice President.

Growing up, Oma Lee was a member of Istachatta Baptist Church, when they moved to town, she found her new church home at the First Baptist Church of Brooksville to raise their worshipped for many years. After Clark’s death, she resided in Crystal River with her daughter, Janice. Together, they attended the First Baptist Church of Crystal River, where Oma Lee added many new friends later in life.

Clark and Oma Lee spent cherished time vacationing in Maggie Valley, NC, where they made countless happy memories. Oma Lee could not have been more proud to show off her grandchildren and life was only sweeter when she and Clark welcomed great-grandchildren to the family. Aside from the time she spent with her family and friends, Oma Lee enjoyed gardening, but her favorite hobby was her daily three mile walk that took her through the neighborhood and even all the way to downtown Brooksville.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 3:00-4:00pm, Sunday, July 26, 2026 at the First Baptist Church (420 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, FL 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 4:00pm.

A Committal Service will take place at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513, US, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 at 11:00am.
