Patricia L. Gregory

She was born December 20, 1938, in Etowah, TN to Everett and Jewel Hamby. Patricia married at age 15 to Billy Ray Gregory and, soon after, relocated to Hernando County, FL, where they became residents for almost 80 years. By the age of 19, they had 3 children, Debra, Vickie, and Boo.

Patricia showed her family what unconditional love and devotion truly was and was married for 64 years until Billy Ray passed. God graced her with 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She was loved by everyone who ever met her and will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Everett Hamby; mother, Jewel Blair; brothers, Jacob Cain and Wesley Hamby; her husband, Billy Ray Gregory; her daughter, Vickie Gregory; and her son, William Gregory.

Patricia is survived by her sister, Billie Ann Morton; her brother, Everett Hamby Jr.; her daughter, Debra (Robert) Cook; her 8 grandchildren, Debra (Bryan) Frei, Robert (Kristen) Cook, William (Whitney) Cook, Amie Hoyle, Josh Hoyle, Angela Gregory, Audrea Gregory, and Amanda (Wesley) Taylor; 15 great-grandkids; and 4 great-great grandkids.

The pallbearers for Patricia are Robby Cook, Billy Cook, Joshua Hoyle, Kyle Frei, and Jay Morton.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00-11:00am, Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Merritt Funeral Home (2 South Lemon Avenue, Brooksville, FL, 34601), where Funeral Services begin at 11:00am. A Graveside Service will follow at 12:00pm at Lake Lindsey Cemetery (22371 Lake Lindsey Road, Brooksville, FL, 34601).
