Dr. Hoffman, I am so sorry to learn of Mrs. Hoffman’s passing. She was a wonderful woman who loved her family and friends.  I will be surprised if you remember me. My name is Linda and I lived across the street from you and your family on Ranch Trail West in Williamsville, NY. I used to be your babysitter. I have thought about Mrs. Hoffman and your family often over the years. She was a great role model.

Dear Miss Erker,I came across this memorial to you when I thought about how much you helped me when I was 10 years old back so many decades ago.You had kept me after school to discuss with me why I didn't do well on a test.  One thing led to another and I wound up pouring out my heart to you about my mother's illness and absence, my father's cruelty, and the heavy load I was bearing as their eldest child.From that day on you stood by me as if I was one of your own.  My grades improved, my confidence soared, and I graduated at the top of my class from my next school.  I went on to get a college degree at a good university, I enjoyed an interesting career, and I retired financially secure.  You were the person who changed the course of my life.  You were the one who listened, who acted, during the desolation of that year.I wish to remain anonymous but I want your family to know that you and they will always be in my prayers.  God bless, you were one of the finest people I have ever met.

Patty and her parents were wonderful neighbors on Laird Ave. in Buffalo. She was "Miss Erker" to my brothers and I as she taught 5th grade at All Saints School when we moved to Riverside in 1963! My heartfelt condolences to John and all of Patty's loved ones. 

Cousin Patty:I’ll miss out semi-monthly phone conversations about the past and present!  We laughed alot!  I will especially miss the yearly visits with all our Italian cousins in Buffalo!  I will truly miss all this and more!  Rest In Peace Dear Cousin.... U deserve it!  My deepest sympathy to your dear husband John and your three sons and their families.  Love u and u will never be forgotten!  Cousin Darlene.

Cousin Patty was the best and she made us all laugh!  She was a beautiful spirit!  She raised three great boys!  She will be missed! RIP!  God Bless u and your family!  Tammy Jo

Pat was a joy to be with and get to know.  I met her through my sister Patti, but I grew to love her lively spirit.  I remember the time she made a three course, home-cooked meal for Patti and I, and my mother and brother. Lasagna, salads and desserts: what a wonderful night. She will long be remembered and missed.  My condolences to John and her entire family.  May your memories bless you.

During my first year teaching at South Ward El, Pat and I shared many laughs and challenging students. I don’t think I would have made it through that school year without her support. Cherished memories that will never be forgotten.

Dena was a very kind and loving grandparent to me, she always would be looking out for me. We would always make and tell funny jokes together. I love you and I miss you.

You were my 5th grade teacher 55 years ago at St Andrew’s Country Day School, one always remember the truly great educators.  You were the best!  Rest In Peace

John and family,We send our prayers and sincere sympathy.  We were so very sad to hear of her passing.  

Pat was not only a great person, she was also a great friend.  There was not one person she game across that forgot how joyful and lively she was to be around.  Her profound personality brought up the spirits of all the children she worked with.  My family and I will always cherish our times together.  And I will never forget the happiness that she brought into our lives.  Blessings always Hoffman.
