He was born October 20, 1945 in Olean, New York. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War, was a member of the VFW, Spring Lake United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men’s Club.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Denise; son, Richard Coit, Jr. of Tampa, Florida; stepsons, Gabriel and Joshua Nelson; stepdaughter, Rebecca Booth; six stepgrandchildren.
There will be a celebration of Life at Spring Lake United Methodist Church, Spring Lake Highway, Brooksville on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 am.
